Toothache
Persistent or severe tooth pain that may indicate decay, infection, or nerve issues.
Tooth Extractions & Wisdom Teeth Pain
Severe pain from wisdom teeth or teeth that need removal. We have a great in-house oral surgeon who will take care of you, and nitrous oxide as a great option to enhance you comfort during the procedure. Please do not eat or drink 1 hour before using nitrous oxide, otherwise you may experience stomach upset during use.
Abscess & Infection
Serious bacterial infections that can cause swelling, pain, and requires immediate care. If dental infections are left untreated, it may lead to serious bodily complications requiring hospitalization.
Cavities
Tooth decay that creates small holes in the teeth and requires prompt treatment.
Cracked or Chipped Tooth
Damage to the tooth structure that can lead to sensitivity, pain, or further breakage. If you still have any pieces of the tooth, keep it in saliva or milk until we see you. Sometimes, we can re-attach the fragment to restore the original contours of the tooth.
Swollen Gums
Inflammation or tenderness in the gums that may indicate infection or gum disease.
Dental Injury & Tooth Avulsion (Knocked Out Tooth)
If a whole tooth gets knocked out:
1) Baby tooth (usually 7yo and younger): keep it out, and come see us for an evaluation of the area, ideally within 48 hours
2) Adult tooth (usually 8-9yo and older): either immediately place it back inside the socket (if there’s visible dirt, gently clean it with saliva, without rubbing the tooth – important to keep the cells intact)…OR, come to us WITHIN THE HOUR so we can place it back in properly. Store in milk or saliva, NOT WATER – this will damage the cells.
If the tooth is not placed back within 1 hour, there is a high risk that the tooth develops complications and may eventually need to be removed.
If you do decide to place it back in yourself, please still come and see us right away so we can evaluate the area and place a splint for a few weeks. This greatly improves healing outcomes.
Missing Filling, Crown or Veneer
Lost restorations that can expose and weaken the tooth, requiring immediate attention.
Jaw Pain
Discomfort in the jaw that may be related to TMJ issues, grinding, or injury.
