ICON is a gentle, no-drill, no-shot treatment that helps fade white spots on your teeth and restore a more natural looking smile.

White spots usually occur while in metal braces.  The plaque bacteria form a sticky layer on the wires and brackets.  This can be difficult to clean off.  Over time, this layer of bacteria sucks out minerals from the tooth, causing tiny voids in the form of white spots.  Unless we use ICON, these stains stay put.

We use a special gel to open up these voids, which then absorb a light-reflecting liquid that evens out the tooth color.  No tooth structure is removed in this process. Within 1 visit, we see an immediate change to the aesthetic appearance of your smile!  Results are truly amazing.

Each stain has some depth to it.  We do not know how superficial or deep a stain is, until we attempt ICON.  In the case of a very deep stain, the white spot may not completely disappear, but appearance improves. 

In addition, ICON can be used alone or in conjunction with other procedures like small white fillings or tooth whitening, in order to improve the smile.  *Note: ICON is different from tooth whitening.  

On a case-by-case basis, we often use ICON before attempting more invasive treatments like veneers (thin plates on the teeth) or crowns – which require tooth removal.
